Summerset

Here's the story behind my purchase at this shop. Was there in October'05 & set my eyes on a red basket bag. Lionel & I thought it would be cumbersome to carry it around the whole trip so we paid a deposit of 50,000RP & said we'll be back to claim it before we leave Bali.

Made like 3 trips back within the day but the freakin' shop wasn't opened! It was a Sunday but we've been specifically told it would be open! And we had to leave to catch our flight & take my word for it - I was totally disappointed (on top of being extremely frustrated)!

Fast forward to our recent trip (23 Jan - 3 Feb'06). We made it back to the shop to 'claim' what was mine. OK, I'm not unreasonable. I know the red bag I had wanted would have been sold by now... so I decided I could settle for a similar one in a different colour then. We spent like 10 minutes trying to explain to the salesgirl (yes, the same one that collected my deposit last year) that I'm gonna be buying the purple basket, minus my 50,000RP deposit. She said their policy was to only keep the deposit for a month & if no one comes back for the goods, that's it.

Whoa... I was like "Yeah, I wrote an email. Obviously no one bothered to check and/or respond so it's not my fault. Plus, you told me specifically that the shop would be open on a Sunday!"

She finally called her boss and I ended up with the purple basket (though i still very much preferred the red one!)

You guys should still check out this shop though, the next time you're in Bali, Seminyak.
They've got some nice finds.
